For the last two years I have been focusing on butterfly gardens. Choosing flowering plants that attract both bees and butterflies 🦋 As a kid it was normal to have both flying around the garden. Today it is not such a common occurrence, so it is my goal to focus on it, and today I was rewarded by my efforts.

As I was watering the front garden, I could see something at of the corner of my eye. Then it flew in front of me, and I was able to see it in all its glory. It was a big beautiful yellow and black butterfly. It was perfect. Trying not to scare it away I moved away, and it continued to fly around me. This went on for a minute or so then it flew off. As luck would have it, I did not have my phone with me to capture the moment so hopefully there will be a next time.

They say that butterflies symbolize hope, and transformation, and the color yellow represents energy, optimism, and joy. It is also said that there are 3 possible meaning to seeing a yellow butterfly: You will receive a big announcement, a memory from your childhood, or a spiritual experience. Funny thing is that seeing it did remind me of my grandfather’s garden, the roses, and the many butterflies that were always in it. It gave me a was special feeling that comforted me throughout the day.
